Course Info: Electives

Choice of Electives

A wide range of courses from numerous disciplinary areas may be suitable for inclusion in the MEM and the GradCert and GradDip. The choice of electives should take place in consultation with, and will need to be approved by, the Program Coordinator. Students may wish to enhance their specialist expertise in a particular field or expand their knowledge and skills into new areas. The Program Coordinator will assist to tailor programs to meet the special needs of each student.

It should be noted that courses may have pre-requisites which need to be satisfied before students can enrol and that courses will not necessarily be available in each session. Careful planning at the start of the program should help to optimise your access to your chosen courses.

See the list below of suggested electives offered in 2008. This list may vary from year to year according to what courses are offered by other Schools and Faculties at UNSW in any given year.

This list is not exhaustive and other courses may be taken with the approval of the IES. This list is subject to change as new courses are developed and older courses are dropped. The full list of courses available at UNSW is available in the Handbook, but please make sure that if you find one there, it must be a postgraduate course.

If you come across any courses which are not on the list, but would be relevant for MEM students, please contact us.
