community-based advocacy organisation. The site has information on past

Centre - TEC was founded in 1972 as
Australia's first environment centre. It is committted to genuine public
participation in environmental decision-making and conducts research
into environmental policies at the cutting edge
- World Wide
Fund for Nature Australia - WWF is an independent,
apolitical organisation which focuses on collaboration rather than confrontation
to achieve its ends. It develops solutions by involving local communties,
landholders and decision makers
Australian Teaching and Research Institutions
- Australian Centre for Environmental Law (ACEL) - This Centre is a collaborative venture between the Law Faculties of
the Australian National University, the University of Adelaide and the
University of Sydney. ACEL promotes teaching and research in environmental
law between the three universities and is estabilshing itself as a resource
base in this field for Australia, Asia and the Pacific Region

for Biodiversity and Bioresources, Macquarie University, Australia
- This centre is a Commonwealth key centre of
teaching and research. Information at this site includes Biodiversity
and Australia, Using Biodiversity Sustainably, and Conserving and Understanding

The Centre for Energy and Environmental
Markets (CEEM) at the University of New South Wales brings together
researchers in UNSW and partner organisations with the key objective
of providing Australian research leadership in the interdisciplinary
design, analysis and performance monitoring of energy and environmental
markets and their associated policy frameworks. CEEM undertakes research
drawing on expertise from the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of

Defender's Offices Network - Through this
site you can access the EDO Network. The EDO Network consists of nine
independently constituted and managed community environmental legal
centres spread across Australia. Each EDO office is dedicated to protecting
the environment in the public interest. The site has details of the
various campaigns in which the EDO is involved around Australia
- Law &
Justice Foundation of NSW - This site contains
a set of relevant Commonwealth and NSW legislation and other internet-based
resources dealing with environment, planning and local government. It
has information on Land and Environment Court (NSW) cases, and links
to environment agencies.

award winning website provides free on-line clearing houses that focus
