MEM Fees - 2008

For local full-fee paying students (ie. not international) the 2008 fee is $2010 per core course. Costs for Fundamental Knowledge and electives courses will vary between faculties, so may be slightly higher or lower. See the Fee Schedule for full details.

For international students, the 2008 fee for the Master's program (12 x 6 Unit of Credit courses) will vary from $30,720 to $33,960 depending on which elective courses you choose and the Fundamental Knowledge courses you are required to take.

The programs run by IES - MEM, Grad Dip and Grad Cert - are all CSP (Commonwealth Supported Place) programs. This means that if you are eligible for CSP, the cost per course will be significantly reduced -for core courses the cost per course is $907.50. CSP permits local students, who meet citizenship and residency requirements, and have sufficient available SLE (Student Learning Entitlement), to substitute a CSP liability for tuition fees. A CSP liability can either be deferred (for Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents on a Humanitarian Visa) and collected through the taxation system by the Australian Taxation Office or paid up-front to the University, thereby attracting a 20% discount. Permanent Residents (other than those on a Humanitarian Visa) are not entitled to the 20% discount and are required to pay up-front.

Please note, international students are not entitled to CSP (Commonwealth Supported Place).

For local CSP students enrolled in the MEM, GradDip or GradCert the 2008 fee is $ 907.50 per 6 Unit of Credit (UoC) core course. Costs for electives and Fundamental Knowledge courses will vary between faculties. The 2008 fee for ECON5125 and LAWS3439 is approximately $1062.30, HPSC5520 is approximately $636.84 and BIOS9001, CHEM7300 and CVEN9895 is approximately $907.50. For the cost of electives, you will need to determine what Fees' Band the course is in and then multiply it by the UoC value to get the fee for the course. For example, HPSC5500 which is 8 UoC will cost approximately $849.12 (Band 1 fee multiplied by 8).

Band 1 (Arts courses such as HPSC, PHIL, POLS & SOCW) will cost $106.14 per UoC
Band 2 (IES, Science and Engineering courses such as IEST, BIOS & CVEN) will cost $151.25 per UoC
Band 3 (Business and Law courses such as ECON & LAWS) will cost $177.05 per UoC
