Kerrie Whalan is the Administrative Assistant for the Institute of Environmental Studies, a role that revolves around being the first point of contact for students, lecturers and visiting fellows of the IES.
Kerrie's role comprises:
- Acting as the first point of contact for all student and general public enquires.
- Administration of the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and MEM programs, including:
- Organising course materials for academics;
- Enrolling all students (new and existing) into their Core and Fundamental Knowledge subjects each session;
- Assisting students in applications to the university;
- Supporting staff and students with assignment submissions and organising staff consultations;
- Organising new student program-plan interviews.
- Organising student graduation and orientation events.
Kerrieās work background includes business development management, holding public and private information seminars for small and large groups, customer service, promotions, and travel consulting.
Kerrie has undergraduate degrees in both Arts (sociology) and Laws, and is currently undertaking her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice part-time by distance while working at the IES. She understands the difficulties in maintaining a work/study/life balance and greatly admires all the students who undertake such study arrangements.
